We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Head of The Arts to join our team at St John Bosco College. The ability to teach Drama and in another Learning Area is desirable. The Head of Learning is required to actively contribute to the development of the Catholic ethos and culture of the College. The Head of The Arts is also responsible for overseeing the co-curricular Arts within the College.
St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational College in its tenth year of operation. In 2025, we will grow to a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 College. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which support best practice, 21st-century teaching and learning methods. Our outstanding facilities include an Early Learning Centre, Junior Primary and Upper Primary studios, junior and senior ovals, soccer pitch and multi-purpose hard court, enclosed Assembly Space, Library, Science Learning Centre, a two-storey Arts and Technology Centre, Middle Learning Centre, dedicated Administration, and ample parking. In 2024, we opened our College Gymnasium and a Senior Learning Centre, as well as starting construction on the College Cafeteria. The College motto "JOY IN LEARNING" is strongly exemplified in the person, life, and teachings of our patron, St John Bosco.
Our vision for this new Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 College is creating a flourishing environment in which every student can experience the joy in learning and thrive in a Catholic learning community, where development of the whole person is of utmost importance. The mission of staff is nurturing our students so that they can become successful learners, confident, creative, and active informed citizens, who are able to contribute positively to society.
Our philosophy of education at St John Bosco focuses on the image of the child, the learning process, the environment, partnerships, and community.

Selection Criteria: Has the relevant experience to be the pastoral and curriculum leader of the Arts Learning Area within the College. Be able to demonstrate highly competent and lead classroom management, pastoral care, and learning area skills. Lead the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum in their relevant Learning Areas. Provide opportunities for students to learn through an orchestrated balance of inquiry-based learning and intentional teaching. Lead, plan, and teach for learning experiences that incorporate a 21st Century learning environment. Be able to lead a process to review and develop programs that take advantage of relevant research evidence and are refined and enhanced through reflection, analysis of data, and ongoing professional learning. Be able to work closely with the College Community. Show initiative and participate fully in College activities, including co-curricular programs. Be an enthusiastic and cooperative team member who will work collaboratively with all staff. Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills. Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College. Qualifications Required: Working with Children check. TRBWA. Education Teaching qualification (minimum 4 years).
