You will work collaboratively to enrich the faith and academic lives of students, contributing to the Church's mission and serving as a witness to faith within the school community.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:Show a strong understanding of the Religious Education curriculum, underpinned by Catholic Theology, including key concepts, skills, pedagogy, and subject-specific literacy.Select and adapt learning strategies appropriate to each student's developmental stage.
Encourage students to be active witnesses of their faith and inspire them in their spiritual and personal growth.Develop and implement dynamic and engaging learning programs, negotiating with students to set individual, explicit, and achievable learning goals.Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback that supports current and future learning outcomes.Be an active member of the school community, working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students to nurture a living faith within the school and broader community.Key Selection CriteriaThe ideal candidate will possess:A deep commitment to the Catholic faith and a passion for sharing it with students.Proven experience in teaching Religious Education at the secondary level.Strong knowledge of the curriculum and theology underpinning Religious Education.Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging and effective learning programs.Capacity to challenge students and foster their faith development through appropriate pedagogical approaches.Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and formation for mission.Essential Qualifications and Accreditations:Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)Completed Tertiary QualificationValid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
