Student Support Services assist children and young people facing a range of barriers achieve their educational and developmental potential. We do this through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at the individual, group, school and team level within a Department Area. As an SSS Clinician, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice to influence the development of teaching and learning strategies and student wellbeing programs for school leadership teams.Utilize highly developed communication, networking, and interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of people in the education community.Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and autonomously when required.Undertake advanced interventions that support students and schools, and collaborate with other professionals on complex cases.We can consider applicants from the below disciplines: Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology and full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Speech Pathologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Social Worker: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work or equivalent and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Job Location: This position is based in the Hume Merri-bek Area with duties split equally across two teams: Hume South SSS (0.5 FTE with a base room currently at Meadows Primary School) and Merri-bek SSS (0.5 FTE with a based room currently at the Coburg Regional Office). There is a requirement to travel and visit schools as part of service delivery. SSS staff have access to departmental fleet vehicles.
