About the opportunity Do you want to make a tangible difference to the lives of others every day? Come and join NSWHP in Orange. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to fill the role of Specimen Reception & Management (SRM) and Collections Manager. The successful candidate will lead a team of Technical Assistants who perform pre-analytical tasks including specimen collection, data entry, and specimen preparation. They will also be the line manager for a small team of courier drivers.

The NSW Health Pathology service at Orange is located within Orange Hospital's Bloomfield campus. In addition, there is a collection centre within Orange CBD and a collection service offered in Molong. NSWHP Orange is a regional referral site and receives samples from other locations in the Central West. We also refer some testing to referral laboratories in Sydney.

What you'll be doing Lead and manage the Collections and Specimen Reception team to ensure the delivery of an effective, quality-focused service to support NSWHP Orange services.

Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, exercising independent judgement, discretion, and initiative, prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff, including performance management, conflict resolution, mentoring, professional development, work prioritisation and scheduling, and an understanding of EEO and OHS&R legislation requirements.
Demonstrated experience in problem solving, conflict resolution, and risk management.
High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of computer hardware, Microsoft software applications, and electronic systems to complete work activities.
