See more of what we do here .The System Engineer Compute is part of the Infrastructure Engineering team at Granicus.Essential Functions: As a senior member of the Infrastructure Engineering compute team, maintain and optimize performance of the following with a focus on availability, scalability, and simplification:VMware vCenter Server Appliances 7.0VMware ESXi 6.5 and 7.0 hypervisorsCisco UCS; Fabric Interconnects, B200- M4, M5 Blades, C220 M5 bladesDocument changes, incidents, problems and architecture from a technical support perspectivePlan for and install new software releases and system hardware/software upgradesEnsure regular patches and updates are installedPerform or monitor system backups/recoveryParticipate in a 12x7 on-call rotation, including maintenance windowsTriage, resolve and document incidents and problemsExecute well documented Change ControlsEnsure compute resources and assets are logged and monitored along with appropriate actions for eventsTake initiative to suggest and implement improvements/enhancements, especially geared towards automating Granicus systemsEnsure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Granicus infrastructure assetsProvide direction, scope and management of Infrastructure Engineering automation effortsProvide direction and leadership related to VMware and Cisco UCS (compute) security design and requirementsProvide overall technical direction to the larger efforts of the compute teamDefine, design and implement compute best practices; Act as a liaison to other technical teams on how to optimize and secure the virtual environmentEnsure Infrastructure Engineering has proper capacity planning, reporting and management of compute resourcesProvide expert level supervision of high-risk Change RequestsQualifications: 5+ years' experience providing support in a virtual environment3+ years' experience administering VMware / ESXi or another virtualization technologyExperience supporting server firmware and hardwareExperience with scripting and programing languagesExperience with Linux operating systemsExperience with IP network services including DNS, NTP, SSH, etcWorking knowledge of network storage in a virtual EnvironmentWorking knowledge of certificates and certificate managementWorking Knowledge of IP networks, firewalls, load balancersSecurity and Privacy Requirements Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies.Don't have all the skills/experience mentioned above?
