Location/Division Specific Information This position is based in Woolloongabba, Queensland, Australia and is a 1 year Fixed Term position.
About the role: Increased growth in Thermo Fisher Scientific's Biological business has opened a position within our QC Team. Join us in Brisbane and contribute to our world-class projects, where your work will make a significant impact.
What You'll Do: Follow Regulatory requirements, Corporate Quality Standards, local Standard Operating Procedures and Policies. Support in the practical application of the Quality System, Change Control, Deviations, CAPA, OOS and OOT, Document Management, related to the Quality Control Department. Perform QC Document scanning and archiving. Update SOPs, work instructions, test records as the need arises. Accurate and timely use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), throughout the entire sample lifecycle: from receipt until consumption /shipment /disposal. Perform aseptic aliquoting of bulk samples (typically from the Operations department). Participate in QC laboratory housekeeping, as prompted by site rosters. Coordinate with the internal Supply Chain department, to ensure the regular replenishment of QC consumables. Perform routine and non-routine sampling of the WFI & UPW systems. Perform Chemical Waste storage and/or disposal, as per site procedures. Perform any other legitimate duties, as directed by the QC Team Leader (or delegate). Keys to Success: Education Degree in Science (Biotechnology or similar), or equivalent experience Experience: An understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is favourable Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Adaptability: Ability to adapt to daily business requirements. Teamwork: You will have the ability and proficiency to work with all departments and colleagues of varied backgrounds. Continuous Improvement: Drive PPI. Quality Orientation: Ability to interpret and apply cGMP principles, strong attention to detail, and accurate completion of test records. Strives for right first time in every task undertaken. Physical Requirements / Work Environment: This position will be both office and laboratory based. When working in the laboratory, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be required. This will include: safety glasses, gloves, lab coat, enclosed shoes, etc.
