About Our ClientOur client stands out as one of the most rapidly expanding areas in QLD, including a comprehensive network of over a 1000km of national highways and state-controlled roads, traversing three local government jurisdictions: Gold Coast, Logan City, and Scenic Rim Regional Council.Job DescriptionAs a Sr. Civil Design Engineer reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer, you'll function within a multidisciplinary team setting, contributing to the planning and design aspects of transport infrastructure projects. Your role involves offering expert technical guidance and assistance to various functional areas within the transportation infrastructure domain in the Region.
General responsibilities include :Offering expert technical advice and support throughout the planning and detailed design phases of transport infrastructure projects, aligned with corridor planning, program development, delivery, and finalisation stages.Executing and occasionally overseeing the development of transport infrastructure design models during strategic planning, conceptualisation, development, and implementation phases within an overarching transport framework for project delivery.Ensuring that planning and design principles adhere to relevant policies, standards, guidelines, and legislation, while maintaining compliance with quality management procedures.Contributing to the review of external design consultancy services in the provision of design solutions.Providing expert support and advice, including issue resolution, to various stakeholders involved in the planning and design process to ensure successful project completion.
Key responsibilities include :
Develop road designs utilising 12d and AutoCad.Ensure adherence to quality management procedures.Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure fit for purpose, value for money and best practice are achieved.Develop and supervise the preparation of contract documentation, project specifications, drawings and cost estimates.Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the planning and design of road infrastructure projects.Undertake a senior role in project delivery, encourage teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward theachievement of organisational objectives.The Successful ApplicantThe ideal Sr. Civil Design Engineer has the following requirements:AU accredited Civil engineer degree or acceptable equivalent.Minimum 3 years of experience in the role within the Transport/Civil Infrastructure industry.C class driver's licence preferable.Good communication skills and ability to lead projects from A to Z.
