Are you a fully qualified Spray Painter with a strong technical background and a natural ability to take charge? We're seeking a Senior Spray Painter to join a high-performing team in Creswick as the 2IC on site. In this role, you'll not only be working hands-on with spray painting equipment, but also leading and coordinating the team to ensure production targets are met.
To succeed in this role, you need to be a fully qualified Spray Painter with a strong technical background, able to work efficiently with solvent-based paints. You must have the leadership skills to take charge, manage a team, and meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality control. A hands-on approach is essential, along with the ability to manage rework and troubleshoot issues as they arise. You should be resilient, adaptable, and able to handle tough conversations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Spray industrial equipment using airless, conventional, and high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) spray equipmentMix and prepare paint to required quantities and specificationsClean and prepare areas to be painted, ensuring a high-quality finishWork with a production line methodology to assign team members to tasks and ensure deadlines are metRead and interpret work sheets to ensure work is carried out to the correct standardsManage quality control, fixing rework, and knowing the proper curing times for paint before sandingLead and motivate a team while maintaining high standards of workmanshipAttend meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesRequirements: Fully qualified Spray Painter with experience in using solvent-based paintsAbility to work in a fast-paced, large-scale production environmentStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coordinate, and delegate tasks effectivelyResilient with the ability to handle tough conversations and deal with staff attitude when necessaryA high level of competency and attention to detail in all tasks, including rework and quality controlReliable, trustworthy, and able to work well within a team environmentPrevious experience working with large-scale industrial projects and different types of paints is essentialThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spray Painter looking to take on more responsibility in a leadership capacity.
