Details of the offer

Come and join our global Risk & Trading team as we look to find a knowledgeable and passionate NBA (National Basketball League) fan!
Due to substantial growth, we are looking to expand the team and you will play a key role in supporting the expansion of the NBA product for FanDuel as the 2024 season is about to commence.
About Us FanDuel is an innovative sports-tech entertainment company that is changing the way consumers engage with their favorite sports, teams, and leagues.
We are the premier gaming destination in the United States with a growing presence here in Australia.
The company is based in New York but has offices in Melbourne (alongside our Sportsbet counterparts), California and New Jersey.
FanDuel is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment, the world's largest sports betting and gaming operator with a portfolio of globally recognized brands and traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: FLUT).
The Role We're dedicated to building a winning team and we pride ourselves on being able to make every moment mean more, especially when it comes to your career.
So, what does "winning" look like at FanDuel?
Sports Traders at FanDuel are the people behind the odds that our customers bet on.
We utilise stats, in-house models, industry news, and our opinions to help formulate what we believe are the most accurate odds, and then manage those odds throughout their lifecycle.
This includes moving prices when breaking news hits or using our in-house models to move prices live during games if players get injured.
If you have a creative mind that will help, as identifying new and exciting opportunities to improve our already best-in-class experience for our customers will be a major part in this role.
Key responsibilities include: In time, you will be able to compile your own odds on a range of different markets using statistics and trends.
For example, helping decide the price for certain players to hit 25+ points or for the Boston Celtics to go back to back. You will monitor our prices and make moves where necessary, taking into consideration things like player news, customer behavior, industry prices, etc. Learn how to use our sports models to fluctuate our odds throughout the game depending on what is happening in that game at the time. Crunch numbers to identify player tradesman trends post-event which will allow us to implement the best practices going forward. Collaborate with various teams around the business to manage things like our liabilities, our onsite display and ensuring we remain compliant across our different jurisdictions. The FanDuel team is based in Melbourne and we adopt a flexible 5 day working week policy based on customer needs to ensure a great work-life balance for our staff.
There is a requirement for some weekend work, but shifts will generally fall between 8am – 6pm allowing you to still have your nights!
About You If you love NBA, have a high attention to detail, can remain calm under pressure and can communicate effectively within teams, then this could be the role for you.
Putting our customers front of mind is the most important in this role, the rest we can teach you – so we are open to recent graduates!
However, we do ask that you have:
Know who is who when it comes to the NBA league, including trades and news from the latest off season. An understanding of statistics and probability with a love for data and numbers. Be proficient in Excel and a genuine team player. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, analytics, finance, accounting, etc.
OR strong ability & interest in doing math-related problems. Knowledge in NBA (any other additional US Sports knowledge is highly regarded). We don't expect anyone to walk in the door and know everything at the start, so we take our training seriously and make sure that the successful candidate is well supported.
This role is a hybrid position that has ability to work from home a few days per week, however at the start of your role, we require most days to be in the Melbourne office to help with training and onboarding.
The Perks & Benefits Along with a highly competitive salary plus a performance based annual bonus of 15%, you'll get:
25 days annual leave (that's right, a whole extra week!
) Genuine flexible working policy with a $800 work from home office allowance. Weekly concierge service including free massages, manicure/nail appointments – all onsite! Daily fresh fruit, free breakfast, sparkling water and Kombucha on tap in the office (did we mention we have a bar fridge for Thursday night drinks!?
) Development budget to send you to conferences, events, courses and other learning opportunities. End of trip facilities with an onsite table tennis and pool table. Access to our Employee Assistance Program and a Circle In membership. Industry leading Parental Leave support program with 26 weeks paid leave for Primary Carers and no wait time.
We also have a progressive return to work benefit for your first 6 months back: come back for 3 days, get paid for 4; come back for 4 days, get paid for 5. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible as we review candidates within 2 weeks of advertising.
Be sure to check out our Life@Sportsbet Instagram page, Sportsbet LinkedIn page as well our careers website for more information and insight into our culture.
Our Focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion We're an inclusive employer who welcomes you for who you are, as you are – so, if you require adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know in your application or contact us if you'd like to discuss this in more detail.
If you think you'd be a great fit but don't necessarily meet everything in the job description, please still get in touch.
