The Centre aims to make Jesus the Centre through our 3Ps: play, prayer, and presence, and to accomplish our strategy through our seven centres: bible-centred, prayer-centred, discipleship-centred, relationally-centred, community-centred, compassion-centred, and missions-centred. We are an unusual church where we let people "have fun" in our church building. We offer a range of sporting, recreational, and ministry activities. With over 3000 people coming into The Centre weekly and approximately 50 casual staff, we have a fantastic opportunity to do ministry in a unique setting.
If you're passionate about making a positive impact in the community with the hope of the Gospel, we invite you to apply for this position. This is a tentmaking role where you'll be free to do ministry alongside your job, which includes sharing the Gospel and praying with people. In fact, we love to pray for customers and staff who ask us to.
You will be part of the ministry team and directly report to the General Manager for operational issues but will be spiritually cared for and guided by the Senior Pastor. You will be formally inducted into The Centre. As this is a ministry role, we will encourage you to have a ministry mentor or coach and be active in your spiritual development through consistent spiritual disciplines, learning through podcasts and books, and attending training days or conferences.
The role will include four weekdays, and you will be required to attend the Sunday 10 a.m. worship service and serve in the church service as per your giftings. The role will have space to have up to eight bonus Sundays off per year.
While our primary goal is to reach our community for Jesus, build relationships, and offer a safe environment for everyone in the community, we also want to provide excellent customer service and offer a first-class sporting competition. We are looking for a customer service-driven, enthusiastic, and organised person with a deep interest in sport and a willingness to learn even more. The ideal candidate should be eager to collaborate with a team to create an exceptional guest experience.
The Sports Pastor is a "tentmaking" position who will collaborate closely with the sports management team to ensure the effective planning, provision, and profitability of The Centre's sports competitions, coaching programs, court bookings, holiday clinics, fitness classes, and Inflatable World. This role requires active participation in the administration, rostering, training, and development of staff, and allocating resources and budget management. The Sports Pastor will embody the values of The Centre and be a key player in bridging the gap between the "sports" and "ministry" aspects of the Centre.
If this position excites you and you feel the Lord calling you to apply, please email Mitch Levingston, Senior Pastor, at ****** or call 0422446676.
