The Role Reporting to the Director of Sport, this role is fundamental in the development of co-curricular sporting disciplines, whilst focusing on student engagement, acquisition, and advancement. The Sports Co-ordinator role encompasses many responsibilities, with a range of tasks essential to the efficient and effective operation of co-curricular sporting programs at Somerville House.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a commencement date in October 2024! Are you an athlete looking to utilise your practical experience to grow and help students develop further in their sporting discipline of choice? Are you currently studying/hold a tertiary qualification relevant to this role and wanting to gain further hands-on experience? Do you have experience in Sport and/or an educational environment where you can professionally and collaboratively work within a team environment with a diverse range of stakeholders? Our ideal candidate will have prior experience and advanced knowledge on a range of sports and an educational environment. With a collaborative approach you will have proven abilities to enhance motivation amongst coaches and students to ensure success for sports.
Whilst not essential, tertiary qualifications or qualifications in relevant discipline (or working towards) would be highly advantageous. It is a mandatory requirement for this position that you hold current First Aid and CPR Certificates and a Working with Children Paid Blue Card (or ability to obtain quickly).
