The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the sports and recreation programs at St Mary Star of the Sea College throughout the 2025 school year. This role includes organising and coordinating college sports carnivals and recreational events, maintaining sports equipment and facilities, and assisting the Physical Education staff in both practical classes and extracurricular activities. You will also play a key role in coaching and managing sports teams and facilitating fitness development for students. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment while gaining a fully funded Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will assist in organising school sports carnivals, manage and maintain sports uniforms, equipment, and facilities, and contribute to the setup, conduct, and cleanup of Physical Education classes. You will support students in developing their fitness and coordination skills, assist with managing in-school sports programs, and coach sports teams for inter-school competitions. Additionally, you will be responsible for capturing and organising photographs from events, keeping accurate records of student sport representatives, and maintaining the college's sports notice board. A professional attitude in communication with students, staff, and the broader community is essential, as you will represent the school at various sports events, camps, and excursions.
The role offers professional growth in a collaborative and engaging environment while pursuing a fully funded qualification. Key requirements include strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, organisational ability, and a valid Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).
National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
