Our Commonwealth Government client is seeking to engage a Speechwriter at the EL2 – SES Band 1 equivalent level.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in authoring and proofreading speeches, great communication and organisational skills, and be able to work with senior staff to achieve project deadlines.
A 6-month labour hire contract is on offer.
The preferred location for this role is Canberra, with Sydney and Melbourne also considered.
Please note: only Australian citizens can be considered for this role.
An existing Baseline security clearance is preferable, with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
About the role: Speechwriters are responsible for developing and writing speeches and a range of other communication products for senior leaders, including the Minister and executives.
Managing competing priorities to achieve high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines is essential.
The ability to develop staff speech writing capabilities, including coaching and mentoring the current team of ongoing APS staff is highly desirable.
Essential requirements:   Experience in government and executive speechwriting A relevant degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing.
Alternatively, possession of recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience that the agency considers appropriate to the duties of the position Requisite skills/experience:   Ability to communicate persuasively and with influence High level stakeholder management skills Demonstrated experience in delivering capability-building activities Demonstrated experience within a fast-paced professional communications environment Ability to manage conflicting priorities and short deadlines Ability to lead and mentor staff Culture and benefits People enjoy contracting with flxbl because our business is owned and managed by people who have first-hand experience working as contractors.
