We are now looking for a full-time or part-time Speech Therapist to join our compassionate team based in Nhulunbuy, NT.
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct regular outreach trips to neighbouring communities to deliver client centred care to both adults and children experiencing a range of disabilities. In this role you'll see some of the most untouched and unique places in Australia, as you travel by road or small planes to visit homelands and Indigenous communities across Arnhem land.

Conducting speech, language and communication assessments, considering the cultural needs of the individual and wider community;Delivering and documenting on individual patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress with cultural sensitivity;Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and local practitioners to provide holistic, respectful care and to adjust treatment plans as neededBeing flexible and adaptable in supporting the healthcare teamYour caseload will predominantly be NDIS with additional private and aged care clients, as such NDIS experience will be highly regarded, but not essential.
Day-to-day you'll work closely with a community liaison when out in community, providing speech pathology services to the local residents, or operate within the local school or clinic for 1-2 days of the week; so no 2 days are the same.
About YouWe are looking for a Speech Pathologist who is dedicated, and passionate about quality care for all.
Our ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years experience as a Speech Therapist in a private practice environment, and have the confidence and ability to operate independently.
However we are open and encourage applications from candidates with all levels of experience, who are looking for their next adventure.
Individuals with an interest in or experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, who are open to change, comfortable living in a remote environment, and willing to learn the ways of the local people, will be well-suited to this position.
You'll require current Speech Pathology Australia registration and have prior experience working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people within a remote or regional community.
