In 2021 there are 27 home groups across four learning communities. We have a leadership team that consists of our Principal, two Assistant Principals (Prep-2 and Years 3-6) and two Leading Teachers, who work as instructional coaches for the teachers in the classrooms.LEARNING COMMUNITIESAlthough our students work in Learning Communities – Prep, Junior, Middle and Seniors – our classes are all straight year levels.We have four Prep classes, five Year 1 classes, four Year 2 classes, four Year 3 classes, four Year 4 classes, four Year 5 classes and three Year 6 classes.The school also has a Specialists precinct, consisting of The Arts (Visual and Drama/Music), Physical Education, French, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and a well-resourced library. The school has experienced a steady enrolment over the past few years and has 627 students enrolled in 2022. The school also has a strong wellbeing focus.INNOVATION LEADERSBellaire Primary School is a leading school in the innovation of education, with an Aim High approach to teaching and learning. The development of learning spaces to facilitate personalised learning, engagement of students and the creation of learning communities has been a major focus. The school has also implemented a digital overlay in each learning community and Specialist subject areas; developing professional knowledge and providing resources in a suite of technologies. This is inclusive of Years 3-6 BYOD (iPad) program in Middles and Seniors.Selection CriteriaSPEECH PATHOLOGISTDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.Demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge and concepts to practical situations in relation to the needs of students in the school.Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement for self and others.RoleRange 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.ResponsibilitiesProvide assessment and implement appropriate therapy programs for students.Provide speech pathology consultancy to teachers including support in the development of individual educational programs and classroom management.Design, implement and evaluate therapy according to students' individual needs in collaboration with teaching staff.Work collaboratively with teachers, other therapists, therapy assistants, classroom education support staff and parents to provide the best possible outcomes for the students.Work in a way to support consistent implementation of whole school and sub school therapy supports.Maintain records and relevant documentation.Who May ApplySPEECH PATHOLOGISTEEO AND OHS CommitmentThe Department of Education is committed to the principles of equal opportunity, and diversity and inclusion for all.
