Speech Pathology Team Leader

The ORS Speech Pathology team is expanding and we are seeking an experienced Team Leader or Senior Speech Practitioner to join the team in ACT! You will join a national team of 60+ Speech Pathologists in our NDIS division providing clinical services to participants aged 0-65. You will work across early intervention, school age, adolescent and adult services with clients who have various presentations, diagnoses and disability types.
Your role will be to provide clinical support to develop independence when working in a complex NDIS caseload. You will be supported by your Regional Manager to provide operational support to your team.
You will be required to manage a small complex clinical caseload in the areas of communication and or swallowing and will be able to access clinical supervision to continue your professional development.
At ORS we encourage our leaders to be proactive in developing the team culture and team scope within their area. You will be supported to develop appropriate leadership skills to achieve this through our internal supervision program and Management Mentoring training series.
The type of assessments and interventions you and the team will provide include:

Communication Assessments
Swallowing and Paediatric Feeding (Dysphagia) Assessments
Mealtime Management Plan development and reviews
Augmentative and Alternative Communication Assessments
Ongoing therapy

You will work across various environments, including family homes, disability group homes, day programs, schools, preschools, community settings, telehealth and ORS offices.
You will have access to administration and IT support, high quality and validated Speech Pathology assessment tools, online resource subscriptions, internal and external professional development opportunities, the opportunity for clinical specialisation as well as career progression.

Learning and Development

That is why we have dedicated Speech Pathology Learning and Development Managers who possess 20+ years clinical Speech Pathology experience, extensive background in university lecturing, and PhD qualifications. You will be able to connect with them in one on one and group training sessions, plus have the ability to email or pick up the phone at any time to ask their advice on complex cases. This resource is in addition to the many Managers and Team Leaders we have on staff!
A few requirements:

Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
3+ years experience as a Speech Pathologist
Registered with SPA
Prior experience working with NDIS participants in a clinical or community setting (preferred)
A car and licence
A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or able to acquire one for client facing roles (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
