Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.
About the Role This is an Ongoing Full-Time position at 1.0 FTE in the Speech Pathology Department.
We are accepting applications from Grade 1 and Grade 2 clinicians, depending on experience.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality assessment and treatment to paediatric inpatients and outpatients with communication and/or swallowing difficulties across a range of clinical areas.
You will receive training and support in the areas required to manage your caseload, so we encourage applications from people with a range of experience (e.g., acute adults or developmental speech and language caseloads).
Part of this role involves providing caseload cover when other clinicians are on leave.
What you'll achieve You'll provide high-quality clinical speech pathology services to in/outpatients at RCH.You'll demonstrate evidence-based practice and a commitment to staying up-to-date.You'll work effectively and flexibly within teams demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.You'll prepare timely, well-written reports/documentation and provide effective verbal feedback to referrers, patients, families, and teams.You'll always act in a professional and ethical manner.Your skills and experience Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent tertiary qualification.Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Experience providing communication and/or swallowing assessments and therapy.About the Department We are a team of approximately 10 FTE speech pathologists.
We provide services to both inpatient and outpatient paediatric populations in the areas of eating, drinking and swallowing, speech, language, voice, cleft palate, and tracheostomy.
The role is busy but varied, interesting, and supported.
