The Alfred Health Speech Pathology Department is a co-ordinated service across all of Alfred Health which includes The Alfred Hospital; Caulfield Hospital; and Sandringham Hospital.The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Speech Pathologist to join the Alfred Health Speech Pathology team. This role will cover both acute and subacute services depending on demand. The role involves assessment and management of patients presenting with dysphagia and communicative and cognitive deficits.Key Responsibilities
Providing a high level of Speech Pathology service to an allocated caseload within the acute setting.Demonstrating and developing a sound level of clinical knowledge in the areas of swallowing, communication, voice and cognition.Ensuring that Speech Pathology goals in the provision of treatment are customer-driven.Providing appropriate support to other Speech Pathology services or units when there are high levels of demand or where staff are away to ensure the overall speech pathology service is optimised.Liaising with senior speech pathology, medical staff and team members regarding appropriate clinical management of patients.Actively participating in team meetings to ensure overall patient goals are comprehensive and holistic.Qualifications and Experience Required
A recognised degree in Speech Pathology.Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.Experience in an acute setting is preferred.Benefits
