Your role Psychological & Specialist Services is currently seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our LINKS Western team. LINKS Trauma Healing Service (LINKS) delivers trauma focused, evidence-based support to children in out-of-home care. The program seeks to decrease trauma symptoms, increase psychological wellbeing and improve behavioural and emotional functioning for this cohort of young people. The service takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to achieve this, focussing on the psychosocial and developmental needs of a young person, as well as recognising the needs of the family and system around the child. As clinical leaders in trauma-informed intervention, we are dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive the highest quality therapeutic support to promote their overall wellbeing and resilience.
What you'll do Provide speech pathology supports including screening, assessment, program development and intervention monitoring/review in the areas of communication and swallowing in line with relevant legislative, professional and ethical requirements. Manage a caseload of children and young people who have experienced abuse and maltreatment and measure the outcome of intervention strategies to ensure appropriate support is provided and positive outcomes are achieved. This includes collaboration with a young person's carers/family. Establish and maintain strong relationships with public sector agencies, non-government organisations and community groups to facilitate a person-centred approach in developing and delivering intervention programs. Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team, to foster collaborative practice and contribute to a positive team culture to enable the best outcomes for young people and families. Maintain accurate files and records in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and professional requirements. Participate in professional supervision and relevant development activities to ensure good practice standards in providing speech pathology support to children and young people with communication and/or swallowing support needs. Contribute to quality assurance activities to ensure good practice standards of speech pathology supports are provided and maintained. LINKS Western operates from both our Dubbo and Orange offices, so you have the choice of either location as your office base. Travel will be required to other offices in the district, in addition to meeting with clients at various sites including but not limited to their schools and homes.

Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Strengths including a 'can-do' attitude and being highly motivated. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
