Invitation to Choose Your Own Adventure! Well hello there, Speechie!
As you contemplate your first or next career move, let me tell you why you should think about a "Choose your Own Outback Adventure" with Talking Towers Speech Pathology.
We are a small, relaxed team - at the moment there are two speechies + an allied health assistant/admin officer.
We're looking for an easygoing, motivated speech pathologist to join our team so we can stretch our services further!
We promote a healthy and productive workplace that supports your values in practice and learning. In a small town, you can have a greater and more noticeable impact.
Some might say that it's hard to keep work and personal life separate (and it can be), but you also have the opportunity to witness the impact you're making. There's no pigeon hole caseload here - we are rural generalists and proud of our unique and varied skillset!
Why get bored seeing the same types of clients day in and day out, when you can mix it up a bit and consolidate your knowledge in many areas at once? Or maybe you would prefer to specialise in a specific caseload?
We could make that work too!
You can have a say in your own case-mix as long as it suits our community's needs. You can do assessment AND therapy AND consultative work here.
We get to follow our clients through their entire therapeutic journey - from start to finish.
We liaise with other important community organisations to provide wholistic support to our families. Our clients tend to be more motivated to participate in their therapy supports than clients you may see in a government position as they are choosing to come to therapy (and sometimes they are paying for it themselves).
This means we have a great opportunity to produce amazing outcomes and work closely with our families to design a therapy plan that suits them. You have the opportunity to access professional development and supervision from a clinical lead who is motivated to grow and develop a long-term team that excels in supporting our clients. There is no such thing as red tape at Talking Towers Speech Pathology - unlike in government or larger organisations!
No red tape = faster change and improvement. We offer an opportunity for faster income growth through performance-based bonuses, in addition to our generous professional development package (funding + PD leave days) and extra week of annual leave (5 weeks per annum).
Also, PSA: Charters Towers is a really affordable place to live, so your salary goes further and you have a great opportunity to save for holidays or future investments! Grow as a clinician - we are small enough to ask every question but big enough to support all your learning needs.
We support one another to get the job done, and look out for each other's wellbeing. We can offer you the chance to build work-life harmony through flexibility in designing your work week and career progression opportunities.
We identify realistic KPIs and expectations to avoid burnout while giving you the chance to earn a healthy salary. Our clinic is comfortable, welcoming and well-resourced.
Suggestions for new resources and updates to systems are welcome at Talking Towers. You get the benefit of the outback dream adventure (complete with sunsets, cowboys/cowgirls, pubs, camping, rodeos, campdrafts, races, and an all-you-can-play buffet of sports in town) while only being 1.5 hours drive from the coast!
Townsville is just "down the road", and from there you can fly anywhere in the world. The Boring Details: In case you'd prefer a list and a more conventional job description, I've put the basic job details below.
