About the role: Come and join the GV Health Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT), a team with a well-renowned supportive workplace culture with an opportunity to work alongside an experienced Speech Pathologist and a team of Allied Health Professionals.
You will work autonomously, undertake a varied and diverse workload and provide interventions in predominantly home-based settings, making a true difference to our client's independence and well-being.
There is no nursing home work.
The team is an established and progressive multi-disciplinary team which includes Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, supported by Allied Health Assistants.
The Speech Pathologist will provide person-centred care with an opportunity to:
Travel across the Goulburn Valley region working in home and clinic settingsWork with consumers, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at homeProvide specialist intervention to clients with dysphagia and complex communication disordersAdvise on appropriate communication aids and devicesDevelop goals and care plans to assist consumers to remain at home and active in their local communityWork with a diverse range of consumers and health conditionsParticipate in student training programsParticipate in service development and quality improvement initiativesAn orientation program is available, along with supervision and support opportunities.We are looking for:
Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)A member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and participating in the SPA professional self-regulation programKnowledge and experience in the delivery of Speech Pathology services within home and community-based settingsKnowledge of the service system and ability to liaise and advocate across the full spectrum of health and community careWhy work at GV Health?
