About the role
Reporting to a Speech Pathology Team Leader, this position would suit someone who enjoys working closely with other Speech Pathologists and collaborating with other Allied Health and teaching professionals.
This role mainly involves supporting young children and adolescents, but there is also the opportunity to support young adults and adults with a disability if there is interest and experience in this space. We understand that the work can be complex; as such, we will support you in choosing a focus for your work and provide a caseload that reflects this focus.
The primary purpose of each role is to provide assessments (where relevant) and implement evidence-based intervention while building supportive therapeutic relationships with clients and parents, families, and caregivers.
This role will be responsible for:

Using a holistic, trauma-informed, client-centred approach when working closely with families, carers, teachers and other health professionals to support clients
Providing evidence-based Speech Pathology interventions and comprehensive assessments in line with professional and ethical guidelines
Providing consultancy support to members of the client's team
Maintaining registration requirements and professional knowledge
Contributing to organisation goals

Selection criteria

Tertiary Degree qualification in Speech Pathology
Registration with Speech Pathology Australia if applying for the Speech Pathologist role
Knowledge of, and ability to implement evidence based interventions
Ability to carry out intervention with clients across a range of settings (e.g. home, early childhood setting, school, community, clinic)
Knowledge of, and experience in, family centred and strength-based approaches to intervention
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Mandatory Requirements

Certified Practicing member with Speech Pathology Australia
Valid New South Wales Drivers Licence
Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
COVID-19 vaccination certificate or ATAGI medical exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
Right to work in Australia
