Limestone Coast Local Health Network, Country Health Connect, Mount GambierSalary: $68,478 - $102,240 p.a - AHP1/2Ongoing Full TimeThe Rural Generalist Speech Pathologist (AHP2) brings a blend of clinical expertise, specialized knowledge, and professional competence to deliver comprehensive, integrated services tailored to the unique needs of the Limestone Coast community.
Operating with increased autonomy, this role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating a diverse range of services that support both preventative care and therapeutic interventions.
The Speech Pathologist may also play a key role in supervising and mentoring less experienced allied health professionals, assistants, and students.
Under the guidance of the Senior Speech Pathologist, the Rural Generalist Speech Pathologist (AHP1) actively contributes to a well-rounded, community-centered health service, leveraging a combination of proactive care strategies and evidence-based clinical models.
As a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, including healthcare providers and external service agencies, the Rural Generalist Speech Pathologist employs a holistic approach that spans early intervention, therapy, and evaluation, with a focus on enhancing overall health and wellbeing.
When working within Subacute services, the role adopts a rehabilitative approach aligned with the Statewide Rehabilitation Clinical Network Rehabilitation Generic Core Competencies Framework, aiming to improve functional outcomes, quality of life, and long-term health results.
What We're Looking For: Must hold a recognised qualification within Speech Pathology and be eligible for practicing membership of the relevant Professional Association.AHP2's must be able to:Apply professional expertise, developing generalist/specialist knowledge, clinical competence and experience to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.Exercise professional judgment in the selection and adaptation of established methods, procedures and techniques within the profession.Provide a broad range of clinical and consultative services across a range of service settings, including one-on-one, group based and health promotion activities.Manage and prioritise personal workload and support others in developing workload management plans, including in the allocation of team resources.AHP1's must be able to:Provide a broad range of clinical services, selecting, adopting and applying methods, procedures and standards which are generally well established and straightforward.Exercise professional judgment within prescribed areas, with support from a Clinical Senior to verify methods and results.Provide straightforward clinical services, including one-on-one, group and health promotion activities.Manage and prioritise personal workload.Why Join Us?
