Due to natural voluntary team attrition, we are seeking a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic Team Leader to join our Assembly team in Wivenhoe, Tasmania.
About the Role As a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic Team Leader , you will be an integral part of our team undertaking various daily tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our assembly department team. Your work will be crucial in delivering production schedules and team management.
Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
Supervise and lead a team of diesel fitter/mobile plant technicians and apprentices in daily operations Ensure the timely assembly of vehicle structures in accordance with schedules Handle issues within the team, resolving conflicts and maintaining high team morale Ensure optimal allocation and utilisation of resources by planning and delegating workload Monitor workflow, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to improve efficiency About You You will be reliable, eager to learn, and looking to develop a broad skill set within a hands-on workshop environment. You will have a collaborative attitude to assist in driving high-quality standards and products. You will have a keen eye for detail and strong fault-finding skills.
The experience and skillset suited to this role include:
Trade Qualification (Cert 3 in Mobile Plant, Diesel Fitting or Diesel Mechanics or equivalent) Able to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical Drawings Ability to analyse technical problems and suggest remedies Well-developed communication skills both written and oral A strong commitment to safety Ability to work as part of a team Experience with Caterpillar products may be advantageous Additional Benefits
