YOUR ROLE
Join our team and play a crucial role in implementing the underwriting strategy for consumer lines products! In this role you will ensure that our processes are fair and fit for purpose, continuing to optimise the guard rails for Retail Insurance Australia for underwriting appetite and exposure risk.
You'll be pivotal in developing clear underwriting manuals and business rules, to balance the spectrum of customer, market, and product risks.
Your efforts will support long-term product underwriting strength, driving profitable customer growth.
You'll maintain a strong underwriting operational risk and control environment, set and maintain risk appetite by product line, and support overall risk compliance from a strategic underwriting perspective.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to our IAG offices in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) & Meanjin (Brisbane).
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally meet the below criteria:
5 + years' experience of Underwriting or Portfolio Management experience in a complex, large-scale insurer or financial services organisation, preferably in direct consumer lines. Understanding of underwriting and assurance principles, including ability to engage technical SMEs on relevant pertinent product challenges. Understanding of Financial Services Regulatory landscape, including Risk, Legal & Compliance, and regulatory issues. Ability to work across the business. Commercial acumen, looking to balance the drive for improvement across all stakeholder needs. ABOUT US
