The successful candidates will teach various arts disciplines in either visual arts or performing arts in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum.The Performing Arts and Visual Arts teachers will:Ensure a fully sequenced and comprehensive Foundation to Year 6 program is established and documented.Communicate with class teachers about the arts program taken with their classes.Act as a resource and support to staff in the area of arts.Order and purchase materials and resources for either Visual or Performing Arts within the program plan and budget allocation.Educate students in the correct use and care of resources and maintain all resources in good condition.Performing ArtsProvide experiences in the areas of singing, listening, moving, playing, and creating to establish the basic concepts of music namely - beat, pitch, rhythm, style, dynamics, tone, texture, colour, and tempo.Coordinate and lead a biennial whole school concert in conjunction with the classroom teachers.Coordinate yearly school Christmas Carol evening.Visual ArtsEnable students to develop skills in drawing, painting, construction, collage, textiles, and modelling.Enable students to experiment with a broad range of materials and styles.Nurture individual expression and creativity, cultivate aesthetic awareness, and develop an understanding of the elements and principles of art design.Organize and curate student art exhibitions and showcases to celebrate student creativity and skill.Role DescriptionA strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and Catholic Identity of the school.A commitment to explicit teaching that is innovative, enthusiastic, and focused on ensuring improved student outcomes with a commitment to the growth of all students.A strong ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships.A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children.A commitment to reflective and collaborative practice.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Competence in the effective use of ICT.An ability to create and maintain a vibrant and cheerful learning environment.Be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety.Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.Please refer to the attached Role Description for further information.St. Brigid's community is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children in our care.Special RequirementsProfessional qualifications in Education.Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School or a willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School.Willingness to support and participate in prayer, liturgical, and sacramental life of the School and Parish.Applications should include a personal letter, current CV, and the name and contact details of three referees.Teachers employed at St Brigid's must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to participating in all Child Safety Policies and Procedures, maintaining a child-safe school environment.
