This nationally significant social infrastructure project will be a place to nurture, trial and share new ideas and form new partnerships that will drive better outcomes for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision.
Job Description NextSense has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Teacher (Deaf / Hard of Hearing - Itinerant Teacher) to join our School Support Service team at Macquarie Park. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 38 hours per week and which reports directly to the Manager School Support Service.
You'll make a difference in this role by:
Delivering education programs to students based at different schools in accordance with the vision, mission, values and standards of NextSense. Embracing a culture of quality and innovation that enhances educational opportunities and outcomes for children with sensory disability. Enhancing the profile and reputation of NextSense, generally, and the Department, specifically, in the community. Sharing knowledge and expertise generated within the department with others. Relevant degree or recognised teaching qualification Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy Excellent teaching practice Experience in the education of students who are deaf or hard of hearing A current NSW driver's licence A working with children's check A criminal record check You are obliged to become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time Compliance with child protection legislation is essential.
