About the Role: Canberra Sexual Health Centre (CSHC) provides clinic-based care as well as an outreach program in non-clinical settings. The clinical care work spans sexually transmissible infections, HIV and gender health, genital dermatology, and sexual function. The CHS Adult Gender Service provides care to adolescents aged 16 plus and adults, and is embedded within the sexual health team. CSHC has a strong philosophy of teamwork, evidence-based practice, and continuing professional development, which is supported by a weekly in-service program.
The sexual health specialist position will provide:
Clinical ConsultationMedical resident and registrar supervision and nursing staff clinical supportContribute to the teaching and training of medical students and other health care professionals, both in clinic and in formal teaching sessions.Contribute to research, evaluation, and quality improvementActively contribute to administration and management of the unitPlease note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to: Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AgencyMeet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.CHS is committed to workforce diversity and to creating an inclusive workplace.
