About the RoleWe are currently seeking applications for Safety Specialists to join our WAIO operations in a permanent position or job share on a FIFO roster.
You will support safety outcomes across dynamic and high performing operations.
Through proactive engagement and coaching of operational leaders, deliver meaningful verification of work practices and standards, driving continuous improvement in safety outcomes, every day.
You will also:
Provide support to Operational teams in delivery of safety improvement initiatives.Participate and facilitate operational investigations and provide process guidance, coaching and quality review;Drive continuous improvement in safety performance through ongoing engagement with site leaders, encouraging and coaching quality field verifications and demonstrating expected standards.Thorough review of site and industry HS events, encourage a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements.Participate in risk assessments and provide quality reviews.Support accurate and transparent HS data reporting and elements of the HSE governance program.About YouThis role will suit a highly capable team player who is motivated to collaborate with site and Health & Safety teams to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day.
You will be a confident, self-motivated professional with experience in heavy industry or mining operations.
A successful candidate shall demonstrate effective communication and engagement skills through leading, influencing, coaching and mentoring in safety best practice.
You may have formal qualifications in Health and Safety Management, Risk Management or a related field, however your attitude, character and a passion for safety will set you apart from the crowd.

A passion for safety and a culture of careInterpersonal and communication skills with a genuine ability to influence at multiple levels in safety.At least 3 Years Health & Safety experienceValid unrestricted driver's licenceExperience with HS management toolsCoaching and mentoring skills with a desire to help people with a lens of continuous improvement.Experience in mining industry will be highly regardedLocation and RosterWAIO operations on a fly-in fly-out 5:2 / 4:3 roster from Perth.Full-time basis or a part-time job share, flexible work arrangement.Remuneration and BenefitsJoin us and be rewarded with interesting, challenging work in a supportive team culture.
