Staff Specialist – Anatomical Pathology (Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology) NSW Health Pathology – John Hunter Hospital Permanent Part Time (0.6 FTE) What you'll be doing: The Staff Specialist will provide high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Anatomical Pathology, and will participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and, where required, the encouragement of an academic environment which supports research and development.The Staff Specialist will perform autopsies on fetuses, neonates, stillborn infants, providing accurate and detailed reports.The Staff Specialist will examine placental tissue to support the clinical diagnosis and provide insight into potential causes of complications during pregnancy and/or birth.The Staff Specialist will examine tissues from paediatric patients, including neoplastic, infectious, inflammatory and genetic disorders.The Staff Specialist will likely participate in some of the adult pathology report such as GIT, skin and breast.The Staff Specialist will collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, paediatric teams including surgical, medical and oncology to provide comprehensive diagnostic support.The Staff Specialist will participate in educational, training and quality assurance programs and activities.All applications must be supported by responses to the Selection Criteria and submitted via the eCredential system.
