Description: An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced staff specialist to lead and manage a multidisciplinary health team. This position is for a Specialist or Senior Specialist who will be permanently appointed to Clinical Forensic Medical Services (CFMS) within the Division of Medicine. The candidate will hold additional responsibilities as the Unit Director of Clinical Forensic Medical Service. The tenure of the Unit Director is 3 years, with the possibility of extension up to 5 years. The position will attract a Level 1 Managerial Allowance.
The Canberra Health Services Division of Medicine provides a range of medical specialties as well as nursing and allied health services. A strong emphasis is placed across all sections on accessible and timely care, delivered to a high standard of safety and quality. This is underpinned by the Division's commitment to research and training. The Division works in partnership with professional colleagues, consumers, and a range of government and non-government service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
CFMS is a 24 hour, 7 days a week, locally based well established clinical service that provides forensic medical care to patients from the ACT and surrounding areas. CFMS comprises of Clinical Forensics ACT (CFACT), a contracted medical service to the AFP, Forensic and Medical Sexual Assault Care (FAMSAC), the ACT Health-based sexual assault service, and 'Fitness To Drive Medical Clinic' (FTDMC).
