Specialist Program Manager Join Us as a Specialist Program Manager! An exciting opportunity awaits to help grow the City's visitor economy while enhancing the quality of life for residents and promoting conservation. We are looking for an experienced Specialist Program Manager to lead the newly established Nature-based Tourism Program. In this pivotal role, you will elevate the profile of the Gold Coast's natural environment and its tourism attractions, driving the development and implementation of innovative nature-based tourism projects.
Your primary focus will be to oversee the program, which consists of three key elements:
A Request for Proposals process to invite private sector submissions for nature-based tourism initiatives,The establishment of a grants program to support local businesses in creating nature-based tourism offerings, andThe management of several Council-led projects that will shape the future of tourism in the region. As part of your responsibilities, you will provide comprehensive updates and strategic advice to the General Manager and other executives, ensuring alignment across the organisation. You will play a crucial role in increasing the supply of nature-based tourism offerings while leading priority projects to enhance our infrastructure and experiences.
To succeed in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Planning, Engineering, or a related field, along with extensive experience in strategic project management. Your background should include skills in feasibility studies, business case development, and the delivery of key city-building initiatives. You'll need to be adept at navigating complex political dynamics while seeking mutually beneficial outcomes.
