The Department of Health is seeking applications for a fixed-term full-time Specialist Pharmacist - Information Management to join the Public Health Services team.
The Role:The primary purpose of this newly created role is to provide information and data management support for the Pharmaceutical Services Branch through established procedures and guidance from the Senior Pharmacist - Information Technology. This includes ongoing support of the national Real Time Prescription Monitoring system and other regulatory systems to meet the Department's regulatory, clinical, financial, logistic, and reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Support the day-to-day operations of various health and regulatory information technology applications of the Pharmaceutical Services Branch, with a focus on the administration of the national Real Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM) system and its interfaces to related systems.Provide specialist support to internal and external stakeholders to assist them in their usage of systems to meet operational needs, including user account management and user training.Identify opportunities for system modifications and/or configuration changes to improve efficiencies, effectiveness, and safety.Maintain system data integrity (e.g., dispensing, prescribing, and regulatory data) and provide information system reports to support management of vendor service level agreements and contracts.Contribute to the implementation and review of policies, protocols, business continuity procedures, and other quality assurance documentation in consultation with business unit staff.Undertake systems testing, including user acceptance testing of changes to both the application and its environment.Details of appointment: Fixed-term full-time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.
