The Department of Health is seeking interest for casual Specialist Pharmacist - Correctional Health vacancies in the Forensic Health Services team, based at the Risdon Prison Hospital.
The Team: The successful applicant will work within a team of specialist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians under the direction of the Senior Pharmacist to provide pharmacy services across the area of Correctional Primary Health Services.
This includes assisting in the coordination and provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service and working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible quality use of medicines across correctional facilities.
Correctional Primary Health Services provides general and specialist healthcare to men and women in prison and has health services in each Tasmanian prison in both Hobart and Launceston.
This position is based at the Risdon Prison Hospital, a high security area.
The occupant will have regular daily contact with prisoners in both the outpatient and inpatient areas.
The Role: Assist in the coordination and provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service including clinical pharmacy, drug information, medication education, dispensing - including Webster packs - and impresting reviews in the area of Correctional Health to achieve the best possible quality use of medicines in CPHS facilities.
You will need: Dispensing and medication supply experience with an interest in the application of that experience in Correctional Health facilities.Ability to critically analyse medical and pharmaceutical information and exercise independent professional judgment.Ability to work successfully as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team with a demonstrated desire and aptitude to deliver practical drug information to medical, nursing, and other health professional staff and clients.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment: Fixed term, casual position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months.
Notwithstanding, hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $126,703 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.
2 of 2022.Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is approved until 17 May 2026; this allowance will be reviewed prior to expiry.Correctional allowance of 6.5%.Benefits available to eligible candidates: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia or completion of an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
