Specialist - Operational Readiness | Carrapateena Date: 21 Oct 2024 Job Country: Australia Job State/Province: South Australia About the Role: We are seeking a forward-thinking and talented individual to join Carrapateena in the role of Specialist – Operational Readiness.
This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing professional to work collaboratively with our teams and their leaders as we continue to ramp up site production and improve operational performance through a structured series of investments over the next five years.
Reporting to the Superintendent – Operational Readiness, you will be working with a team focused on delivering the necessary systems, processes, and organizational capabilities required to ensure value is delivered quickly from the ongoing investments in the site.
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)Roster: 5/2/4/3 Reporting to: Superintendent - Operational Readiness Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time In This Role You Will: Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental, and community responsibility through Operational Readiness activities.
Deliver Operational Readiness activities, starting early in the project lifecycle to develop project-specific Operational Readiness deliverables.
Work closely with project and operational representatives to integrate and ramp up projects successfully.
Build strong internal stakeholder relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Technology, and Functional teams.
Engage and integrate with each key Operational Readiness delivery partner to define all operational readiness scope elements.
Manage change effectively and efficiently to enhance business performance strategically.
Identify risks and make risk-informed decisions to maximize business outcomes.
About You: Demonstrated experience with budgeting and project management activities at an operational mine site, including planning work activities and resources, tracking delivery, managing risks, and evaluating success.
Effective communicator with the ability to engage and resolve issues across all levels of the project and operation.
Experience executing organizational change management programs is an advantage.
Experience with the BHP context and operating model, including understanding decision-making drivers across a mine to mill value chain.
Good understanding of the systems, processes, and organizational capabilities required to handover, operate, and maintain a new asset.
Ability to apply risk management in both project and operational contexts; hands-on experience in applying the BHP risk management framework is an advantage.
Ability to translate operational requirements into training needs and/or experience with developing frontline training packages is an advantage.
Relevant Bachelor's degree or trade in combination with mining industry experience.
