About the RoleA rare opportunity has arisen for a skilled procurement professional to fill the role of Specialist, NPI as part of the Copper SA Procurement team.
Reporting to the Lead, NPI, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused procurement activities, including category management, sourcing, contract management and improvement initiatives.

This hybrid role is based in Adelaide with options of working from home (up to 2 days a week).
Core ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and executing sustainable category management, sourcing and contract management strategies based on global best practice and local insights, that target the realisation of best valueBuilding and managing strong, collaborative relationships with internal customers, suppliers and other key stakeholdersBeing an expert commercial advisor to internal customersIdentifying and leading improvement opportunities to maximise value and optimise risk management across the supply chainStriving to achieve 100% safety and 0% wasteIdentifying and leading local and indigenous sourcing opportunitiesAnalysing, interpreting and reporting on large sets of financial data, performance metrics, market intelligence and other relevant information to make sound commercial recommendations and decisionsDeveloping and evaluating complex total-cost-of-ownership and pricing modelsSupporting procurement activities led by others as requiredTaking personal accountability for their performance, working hard to deliver against individual, team and global KPIs, and stretch targetsIdentifying and proactively finding solutions to the root causes of problems hindering or preventing successExperimenting with better ways of doing things, and learning from mistakesSupporting team performance and capability development through peer support, collaboration, sharing of lessons learned and providing on-time feedbackEngaging the capabilities of the entire organisation.About YouAt least two, but ideally five or more years' experience in high value/risk procurement roles within medium to large organisationsMining or related industry experience is desirable, but not essentialA qualification in Procurement, Law, Commerce or related field is desirable, but not essentialExpert knowledge of procurement best practiceSpecialist knowledge of common contractual clauses and the application and implications of contract lawAdvanced relationship management and communication skills, enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group (frontline to executive)Strong commercial acumenStrong analytical and reporting skillsSuccessfully juggles multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving and at times ambiguous environmentActs with integrity and takes pride in their workPositive and proactiveAutonomous, detail oriented and organized.About Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
