Exciting opportunity to join the Acute Care Team as an integral part of a suite of contemporary community based services serving the South of the state.
The role: As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service, delivering high quality mental health care, and in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policies and procedures, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Specialist Medical Practitioner – Psychiatrist will: Provide comprehensive general mental health services for the community based mental health Acute Care Team (ACT) within the framework of established medical services practice, delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care.Provide clinical leadership in the delivery of acute mental health care to consumers of the ACT, Acute Care Stream Services within Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) as part of a multidisciplinary team.Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other Agencies, regarding the assessment and management of people who are experiencing acute mental health concerns.Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Psychiatric Registrars, medical students, and other medical staff as required/appropriate.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
The team: The Acute Care Team offers assertive community-based treatment by a dedicated multidisciplinary team.The team works extended hours and is based in the city centre.Location: Tasmania also has a lot to offer as a destination to work, live and play, with a natural environment and quality of life unique to a small capital city. We offer:
Attractive salary including salary packagingPermanent full time, day worker (with on-call)position working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary:$210,000 - $301,349per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
