Provides comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric services in Tasmania. Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other agencies, regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders. Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Registrars/Career Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers, and other medical staff as required/appropriate. Mental Health Services: State-wide Mental Health Services (SMHS) is a leader and innovator for a unique corner of the health care industry.
We provide a comprehensive suite of mental health services in adult, alcohol and drug, forensic, older persons, child and youth, and correctional primary.
Available roles for Staff Specialist – Psychiatrists in SMHS Adult Mental Health Service South, include the provision of services in:
Community-based Mental Health Services, including the Acute Care Stream (ACS), the Continuing Care Stream (CCS), Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHiTH), and a community inpatient facility (Peacock House). The acute general adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). The general adult Consultation-Liaison (CL) psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and associated facilities, including the Emergency Department (ED) and the Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSSU). Rehabilitation and extended care facilities: Millbrook Rise Centre (MRC) a 27-bed inpatient facility at New Norfolk and Tolosa Street, which has 6 rehabilitation beds in the community. Step-up and step-down facilities in the community. Details of Appointment: Permanent full-time, day worker position (with on-call) working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $210,000 - $301,349 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
