About the role
A unique permanent full-time opportunity is now available for a Specialist Lead to join our experienced and well-established team in our Waitara office.
Our Family Support Services program delivers early intervention Family Support across the Northern Sydney District working with young people and families who are experiencing trauma or other parenting difficulties to improve their wellbeing.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role provides people leadership to 5 experienced Caseworkers delivering family support to children, young people and their families.
As a Specialist Lead you will provide technical and supervisory clinical support, help with case plans and case reviews and support the delivery of group work and monitor allocations of work, pertaining to Targeted Early Intervention and Child and Parenting Programs.
Together the team delivers person-centred holistic supports to clients.

Key responsibilities:Leading, supervising and mentoring a team of 5 Caseworkers, including providing clinical supervision.Conduct thorough assessments of families and young people to ensure the child's and family's needs are addressed.Work with families with children on a range of issues that include Domestic Violence, Mental Health and Alcohol and drug misuse in the family context and child safety.Apply evidence-based practice and draw on theoretical frameworks appropriate to the needs of the children and young people.Work within the program guidelines that align to the Human Services Outcomes Framework, working effectively with clients on targeted outcomes, collecting and reporting on outcomes to ensure we are meeting the needs of the clients and community we serve.To be successful in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area - Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related subject area.Experience leading and supervising a team, with a strong ability to build an effective engaged team with a positive work culture.Strong experience or extensive knowledge in Trauma Informed, Strengths Based Casework Interventions and Human-Rights frameworks.Ability to develop family-based interventions which increase child safety.Sound understanding of Family Systems theory and working systemically with families.Family Problem solving and engaging and effective communication skills.Continual child development research and its application in treatment.Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and make sound decisions under pressure.Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.Why Choose CatholicCare?
