Specialist - Inverter Based Technologies

This role contributes to the Horizon Power Purpose by optimising the performance and reliability of inverter-based technologies (including but not limited to batteries, solar farms, and wind farms) which are forming a foundational pillar of our future energy systems.
The role will underpin Horizon Power's technical competence in the asset life cycle of inverter-based technologies with a particular focus on operationalising and optimising the assets, which is essential for Horizon Power to achieve its decarbonisation objectives.
You will also be providing technical and engineering excellence including staying abreast of new and emerging renewable and inverter-based technologies and providing asset management expertise through operational support across the whole life cycle.
This is a permanent full-time position.
Your role will include: Contribute to the development and implementation of Horizon Power's Asset Management Plan in accordance with the corporate Asset Management Strategies and Frameworks for all inverter-based assets (including batteries, solar farms, and wind farms).Manage the operational and engineering support of inverter-based assets to an effective and efficient operating regime that delivers reliability and safety whilst providing economic benefits and staying within approved budgets.Develop and maintain key performance indicators for inverter-based systems and be able to interpret and diagnose performance trends at both an asset and whole of power system level.Lead incident and failure investigations, including trouble shooting and diagnosis of asset and control system issues and analyse data related to faults, failures, and asset performance to identify potential issues, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Provide detailed technical engineering oversight of commissioning activities and complex maintenance activities inclusive of developing inspection and test plans and acceptance sign off on inspection and test records.You will have: Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, or Power Electronic Engineering or equivalent, and demonstrable equivalent relevant experience.Extensive technical knowledge and experience with inverter-based technologies including large scale solar farms, wind farms and utility scale BESS systems (standalone and network/power station embedded) including experience in design, installation, commissioning and integration, operations, maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting, performance monitoring.Experience in asset management of inverter-based assetsExperience with control systemsFamiliarity with power system technical requirementsOur employees enjoy real rewards and recognition including: Working on impressive renewable energy projects across WAHelping to create a connected and thriving WA.An extensive rewards and recognition programAccess to our award-winning health and wellbeing program.Flexible working arrangementsOur workplace culture is created through every interaction, every experience and everything we do.
