Specialist Hydrogeologist Be part of a dedicated team that is safety driven and values inclusion One of the world's most unique sites, with the focus now shifting to comprehensive world-class rehabilitation whilst maintaining successful operation of a critical path asset 2 weeks on, 1 week off, Fly In; Fly Out roster from Brisbane, Queensland Site based role, in Jabiru, Northern Territory About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs As the Ranger Rehabilitation Project progresses through closure there is a requirement for a Specialist Hydrogeologist to join the on-site Water Management team.
The Water Management team performs a critical role in ensuring the protection of the surrounding environment and downstream community during the rehabilitation of the former Ranger Uranium mine site.
Reporting to the Superintendent Water Management and working in a collaborative environment with other water and environment professionals, your function will be to: Provide technical analysis and reporting of groundwater data for compliance and assessment against operational controls, commitments and licensing requirements.
Lead focused hydrogeological investigations to support operational water management requirements including project management of consultant lead investigations.
Provide technical support to the closure studies team who undertake groundwater modelling, contaminated sites investigations, and surface water studies.
Review and update groundwater monitoring processes, instrumentation and data acquisition systems to ensure alignment with industry leading practices.
Implement improvement projects to groundwater data management, analysis and reporting.
Support water management initiatives to progress Ranger rehabilitation including catchment conversion, monitoring rationalisation, and bore rehabilitation.
Project manage the update and calibration of the GoldSim Ranger water balance model.
What you'll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and the team A minimum of a bachelor's degree qualification in either Hydrogeology, Hydrology, or similar Geoscience.
At least 6 years' experience as a hydrogeologist in the field of mine water management or mine rehabilitation.
Strong analytical, reporting and verbal communications skills.
Experience with ArcGIS, GoldSim, groundwater modelling, data analysis and data visualisation software is highly desirable.
Experience with internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication.
Current valid driver's license.

ERA, established in 1979, previously mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory.
