About the Opportunity InfinityPATH is looking for a full-time Specialist Histopathologist based in Brisbane, QLD to lead in shaping the future of our histopathology services.
Reporting directly to the Director, you will provide not only high-quality laboratory services but also strategic leadership in advancing diagnostic pathology practices. As a leader in the lab, you will have the autonomy to influence clinical and scientific approaches while mentoring the team and contributing to the organisation's vision.
More specifically, your responsibilities include: Leading the diagnostic process by handling complex histopathology cases with clinical correlation and advisory services Setting the standard for quality assurance programmes and ensuring scientific rigour across all diagnostic processes Serving as a key advisor and consultant to medical professionals, offering expert opinions on challenging cases Driving innovation by contributing to and implementing cancer reporting protocols and other advanced diagnostic tools Collaborating with the lab and medical teams to shape operational strategies and ensure the highest standards of service delivery Creating and delivering educational content to support ongoing professional development in the industry Representing the organisation in professional networks, conferences, and research activities to reinforce InfinityPATH's leadership in the field A key advantage of this role is the dedicated Quality Management Team , which handles administrative tasks. This support allows you to focus on delivering high-quality diagnostic services, clinical work, and research. You will also work in a culturally diverse environment that promotes gender equality and inclusivity . We foster a team culture of collaboration supported by reliable technical support from a skilled IT team.
About You To qualify, you will need:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (or equivalent) Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Extensive experience in histopathology, with a focus on leadership in dermatopathology or gastroenterology pathology Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are highly valued:
Proven visionary leadership , inspiring teams and driving clinical innovation, with active engagement in thought leadership through research, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications A strategic thinker who can shape long-term operational strategies and set the direction for advanced pathology practices Influential communication skills, both written and verbal, to mentor staff and serve as a consultant to medical professionals A commitment to mentoring and developing junior professionals, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning The adaptability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy As our ideal candidate, you have a clear vision for the future of diagnostic pathology.
