Why this role mattersThe Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence.
We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, at our Palmerston location.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position.
This role requires the ability and willingness to be on call.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 5. You will successfullyEffective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care.Specialist FV Case management and crisis support is provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice.Ongoing assessment is made of the victim survivor's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit.Conduct ongoing family and domestic violence risk assessment and safety planning with clients using agreed tools.Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with victim survivors and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients.Case plans are implemented and actively led by the victim survivor.Victim survivors are assisted to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications) A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential.Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable.Experience in specialist family violence and/or child wellbeing work is highly desirable.Demonstrated case management experience and skills.Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required.Advanced computer skills including experience in data and record management.Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with children check.Ability and willingness to be on call.The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
