About the role
We are looking for a passionate Specialist Family Violence Outreach Practitioner.
This role will provide outreach case management support to individuals and families who have experienced and/ or are currently experiencing family and domestic violence.
The role also encompasses the delivery of assessment and crisis response.
This role is positioned within the Catherine Booth House team.
Catherine Booth House (CBH) provides crisis accommodation and case management support to women experiencing family and domestic violence.
Key responsibilities Conduct ongoing risk assessment and safety planning for clients using agreed tools Deliver highly effective and appropriate case management to children and young people, and parenting support services to families Deliver highly effective and developmentally appropriate evidenced based support services to children and families, based on goals as identified by the parents and/or children, within their home, school, and community environments.
Develop positive and effective relationships with children and families and the broader community which encourage self-determination Respond, manage, and report incidents and risk inline with TSA policy and procedures.
Establishes and facilitates programs and therapeutic activities, including but not specific to school holiday and significant calendar dates Assist with service delivery needs including, transportation of clients, individual and group client activities, preparing units for new intakes, cleaning and submitting site maintenance requests This is a max-term full-time position, and will service women and their families residing in the Palmerston region.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.
You will have Relevant experience in a community service setting Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma informed and client centered support Highly developed time management skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to work alongside relevant agencies and clients Strong computer skills including experience in case note writing and record management Degree or Diploma qualification in Social
Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Services, Welfare or related field or extensive experience in community services setting (desirable) A national police record check is required (to be completed during the recruitment process) Working with Children Check Current Apply First Aid qualification C Class Drivers Licence What we offer
