Specialist Family Violence Courts ManagerThe Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.
The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role Offered on a full-time fixed-term contract from 16 December 2024 until 22 December 2025 and working closely with the central Specialist Family Violence Court (SFVC) Project team, court staff and internal and external stakeholders, the SFVC Manager leads, manages and develops the SFVC registry staff and functions and is responsible for managing the ongoing local implementation of FV reform.
The SFVC Manager engages with local stakeholders to strengthen and embed community connections that align to and support high quality delivery of the SFVC Operating Model.
The role also involves service coordination, integration, risk management, and project support activities and contributes to the continuous improvement of family violence reform initiatives within the court, in collaboration with the Senior Registrar and MCV Family Violence Branch.
Key accountabilities include: Planning for and managing the operations and ongoing implementation of the SFVC Division, ensuring the delivery of court registry services and quasi-judicial functions in accordance with appropriate policies and court operational practices.Managing and leading staff in delivering responsive services by monitoring demand pressures, performance outputs, identifying service gaps, driving professional development and implementing effective solutions.Leading, monitoring and managing the SFVC Operations, including driving continuous improvement and a high-quality service delivery culture with court users.Proactively identifying, managing and escalating risks, issues and opportunities affecting local implementation and ongoing operations of the SFVC through regular progress reporting to local court management, the SFVC project team, and governance groups.Overseeing and leading ongoing data collection and reporting to support accountability, continuous improvement and evaluation of broader family violence reform and reporting.Identifying and assessing professional development and capability uplift needs for family violence staff and promoting SFVC staff wellbeing, including contributing to the coordination of supportive wellbeing programs and initiatives.Leading extensive local stakeholder engagement and communications activities across the region relating to the SFVC reform, in consultation with the Senior Registrar and Regional Coordinating Magistrate, to contribute to the operation of the SFVC.About You Certificate IV Court Services or equivalent.Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of family violence and its impacts on victim survivors.Demonstrated understanding of the Victorian family violence service system.Demonstrated extensive knowledge of legislation, practices, policies and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals.Experience in the design and implementation of effective work practices aligned to best practice, which can be applied to implementing a Specialist Family Violence Courts model.Demonstrated experience with community and industry forums or working groups to deliver continuous, system-based reform.How to apply Click the 'Apply Now' button, ensuring you include the following in your application:
