We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.About The RoleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Children's Practitioner, at our Karratha location.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time or part-time position.This role requires the ability and willingness to be on call and work outside normal business hours, as required (i.e.
Mornings and Afternoons).Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 5.You will successfullyAdhere to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and contribute to a collaborative approach to service delivery and improvement within the team.Work under the general direction of the Team Leaders and the Program Manager, adhering to established work practices whilst exercising initiative and judgement where practices and direction are not clearly defined.Conduct ongoing risk assessment and safety planning for clients using agreed tools.Deliver highly effective and appropriate case management to children and young people.Provide highly effective and appropriate parenting support services to families.Deliver highly effective and developmentally appropriate evidence-based support services to children and families, based on goals as identified by the parents and/or children, within their home, school, and community environments.EssentialYou will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)Relevant experience in a community service setting.Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-informed and client-centered support.Highly developed time management skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.Well-developed liaison and communication skills, including the ability to work alongside relevant agencies and clients.Strong computer skills including experience in case note writing and record management.Relevant state Working with Children Check.WA Drivers Licence.Possess current Apply First Aid and CPR qualification.Ability and willingness to be on call and work outside normal business hours, as required.Preferred But Not EssentialDegree or Diploma qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Services, Welfare or related field or extensive experience in community services setting.What We OfferAs a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as:NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax-free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650).Flexible working conditions.Health, fitness and financial discounts/benefits.Paid parental leave - 12 weeks.Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme.Up to 5 days paid leave per year to 'volunteer' in a TSA program or activity.Purpose-driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomes.Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Opportunity for career development.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer who provides an inclusive work environment and embraces the diverse talent of its people.
