About the role As the Specialist Engineering, Strategy & Planning, you will carry out the quarterly fleet plans, 5-year fleet plans, implement, and review the fleet strategies.
Reporting to the Principal HME Fleet of MP&E, accountabilities of the role include:
Quarterly and the 5-year HME fleet plans, identifying asset requirements (such as relocations, hire, purchases) across the Pilbara Mining Operations, communicating updates across key stakeholders.A key contact for the broader business to provide guidance and support on HME Fleet capabilities, suitability, and constraints.Interact and influence operations, achieving business targets for fleet requirement.Review and manage HME Fleet strategies to standardise, simplify, and reduce system complexity.Review the whole of life costings to identify the optimal disposal life.Liaise with the Sustaining Capital Delivery Teams to schedule delivery of fleet deployments and new deliveries.Support and manage HME options analysis, liaising with Business Analysis to determine the optimal business option.Management of Change (MoC) for new asset models.Continually identify, challenge, and implement system and process improvements.Demonstrate our Rio Tinto values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity.What you'll bring 5+ years Engineering (such as mining, mechanical, mechatronic) and operational experience with knowledge of HME capacity and operating parameters.Highly proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Microsoft Project, Power BI.Database user & working knowledge (e.g., SAP, ORDW).Programming (SQL) and database skills.Proficiency in HME equipment, systems, processes, and tools.Ability to work autonomously and maintain effective time management skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to challenge and influence.Critical decision-making capability with an analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal skills.A drive for continuous improvements.Proactive with a commitment to driving a safe and inclusive team culture.What we offer A permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto.Full relocation provided to Western Australia from elsewhere in Australia.A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive bonus.Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family.Attractive share ownership plan.Company provided insurance cover.Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options.Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions.Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support.Leave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave, cultural leave).Exclusive employee discounts including hotel stays, banking, accommodation, cars, retail, and more.Who we are Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company.
