About the role As Specialist Engineer within the National Commissioning team, you will lead connection projects and provide technical mentoring and coaching to the National Commissioning technical staff.
The National electricity transmission network is undergoing unprecedented transformation, creating a range of exciting opportunities to help solve complex challenges and shape its future in the long-term interests of energy consumers.
Reporting to the Manager - Commissioning, this role can be based across all states.
What you will be doing Provide expert technical leadership, knowledge and strategic advice to the NEM National Commissioning team and broader organisation.
Conceptualise, develop, and implement innovative commissioning solutions to complex technical problems through engineering skill and knowledge.
Initiate connection projects, provide expert guidance and solutions for technical issues.
Develop effective and proactive relationships with a range of critical stakeholders to ensure the right outcomes for National Connections team and broader organisation.
Actively participate in professional working groups to raise AEMO's profile and inject key technical matters into the international forum of engineering and energy systems.
Provide project-based mentoring and expert guidance to technical staff and project stakeholders.
What you will bring to the role Comprehensive experience in Commissioning of renewable projects including T & D projects.
Experience of electrical power systems dynamics and stability concepts and assessment techniques.
Extensive experience in Hold point testing/witnessing of various generator systems and plants.
In-depth experience in R2 compliance testing & R2 model validation.
Knowledge of the electricity industry, NEM dispatch process, generator behaviour and network constraints.
