Specialist Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV) Case WorkerMonaro Community Access Service – Cooma NSWPosition Title: Specialist Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV) Case WorkerEmployment Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, fixed term contract until June 2026ABOUT USMonaro Community Access Service (MCAS) is a Community Based not-for-profit organisation unique to the Snowy Mountains Region and has been in operation for over 30 years. MCAS Inc strives to assist people aged 16 years and over who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as those experiencing domestic and family violence and other adverse social issues who may need support.ABOUT THE POSITIONWe are seeking someone with the relevant qualifications, skills and experience as a Specialist Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV) Case Worker to join our Cooma based service. You will deliver a best practice, specialist, trauma-informed model of service delivery to people who are victims/survivors of domestic family sexual violence (DFSV), to ensure an integrated and specialist response. The Specialist DFSV worker will provide the following services:Family and domestic violence servicesSexual violence servicesSupport and advocacy to access housing and accommodation servicesLegal support and court-based servicesReferral pathways to perpetrator interventions as identifiedOther generalist or specialist services providing support for DFSV victim-survivorsSelection CriteriaYou must have a relevant four-year degree with one year's relevant experience; or a relevant three-year degree with two years of relevant experience; or an Associate Diploma with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years (minimum of 5 years) of relevant experience.You must have demonstrated knowledge and skills of DFSV impact issues, dynamics, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques.You must have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and understanding of the criminal justice response to DFSV, including AVO applications and related legal matters such as family law, care and protection, migration and victims' compensation issues. Experience providing DFV case management and/or support at court hearings will be highly regarded.You must have the demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, marginalised communities and have demonstrated ability to engage effectively with clients in crisis.You must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including a firm understanding of your responsibilities being a mandatory reporter for children at risk of significant harm.You must have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.You must have demonstrated experience in providing direct service delivery/case management for clients in crisis, who have experienced DFSV and the ability to assist clients to develop critical analysis of their circumstances to work towards and achieve safety, empowerment and change in their interpersonal environment and broad social conditions.APPLICANTS MUST:Address the above 7 points of the selection criteria with a cover letter communicating the reasons why you are applying for this role.Attach a current CV detailing relevant qualifications and experience in the human services sector, achievements and at least 2 referees (one must be a current or recent manager/supervisor).Provide evidence of Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NSW Drivers Licence.Wages: Classification based on experience and education under the SCHADS award 2010Closing Date: 1st November 2024Contact: For further information or to apply for position contact the President via the following email: ******
