The department consists of 6 consultants with a strong commitment to teaching, with 6 Registrar positions, the majority of which are filled by Advanced Trainees.
Services include a 30-bed dedicated paediatric ward, an 8-bed neonatal unit with ventilation and Nitric Oxide facilities and access to ICU beds as required.
Ambulatory care, with outpatient and outreach care are core components of our service.
The generous remuneration package for this position includes the following: Professional Training Allowance** $21,603 - $27,967 Second Roster Allowance **$41,433 Private Practice Allowance - Option B** $103,538 – $145,005 Hospital Salary packaging $9,010 6 weeks recreation leave.
Professional Development leave 2 weeks Superannuation Leave Loading Relocation and Repatriation Reimbursement.
The Hospital: The Hospital is a 189 bed Hospital it is the only acute secondary care service for 1500km in any direction and more than 60% of admissions are Aboriginal people often from remote communities.
The hospital provides the following services: Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health, plus a range of clinical support services.
It is also accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and has links to many external research organisations.

Skills & Qualifications required: Must have general and/or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Appropriate specialist qualifications (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent).
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to assume administrative responsibilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
